This is a condition where one shoulder is at a higher level, than the other since birth. This is not only a cosmetic problem but a functional limitation too. There is decreased shoulder movement specially overhead abduction, like combing of hairs. The cause is disorder of embryogenesis.

The treatment is mostly surgical correction which is performed by resection of a abnormal structure called ‘omo-vertebral bar’ and bring down the scapula to its original level. The affected scapula is usually smaller in size and atrophic.
